This AVIAN employee can almost hear church bells ringing.
Katie Metz, a two-year employee supporting the College of Test and Evaluation (CT&E), will tie the knot with her boyfriend of ten years in just a few short months.
When she’s not busy planning a wedding, Katie is sharing a very, very small office with six other people at the United States Test Pilot School at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland.
“You’ve got to really like your co-workers when you’re physically that close to each other,” Metz said. “It’s a good thing we all get along so well. My team is one of the reason’s I love my job. I’ve got a great team.”
Katie didn’t always work for CT&E. When she first started with AVIAN she was the bright smiling face greeting guests at AVIAN HQ. On to new adventures, Katie started support CT&E and has loved it ever since.
A three-year vegan, Katie enjoys a protein-packed diet sans the meat. She began eating meat-free as part of an exercise regime she was on and feels healthier than ever.
Katie is the eldest of six siblings and would love to travel more abroad. Growing up, Katie moved quite a bit within the United States, so she’s ready to explore what the rest of the world has to offer.
