Lexington Park, Maryland — AVIAN announced today that it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 following an independent evaluation performed by Kratos, an accredited Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO). This milestone follows a comprehensive evaluation of AVIAN’s cybersecurity posture against the requirements of NIST SP 800‑171 Revision 2, a federal standard comprising 110 controls across 14 security families.
Level 2 certification provides increased assurance to the Department of Defense that AVIAN can effectively safeguard Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) across multi‑tier supply chains, including secure information flow with subcontractors. This accomplishment reinforces AVIAN’s commitment to protecting sensitive information through strong cybersecurity practices.

Kratos evaluated AVIAN against 320 assessment objectives, including systems confidentiality, integrity and accountability; personnel vetting and training; protection of physical assets; and measures to detect, respond to, and contain security incidents. Third-party certification reinforces AVIAN’s commitment to cybersecurity and reputation as a trusted defense partner.
