ASEC-AVIAN Joint Venture awarded five-year Advanced Sensor System Development and Execution contract

Dec 2nd, 2020

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – The ASEC-AVIAN Joint Venture (A2), was recently awarded a 5 year / $85M contract to provide Airborne Systems Integration support to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Webster Outlying Field (WOLF).

“The ASEC-AVIAN JV (A2) is thrilled to be awarded this contract, said Vinnie Bellezza, ASEC’s President and CEO. “Early this past year ASEC and AVIAN formed a Joint Venture (JV) which merges terrific talent from both companies, fully capable of providing the strong support required for the Airborne Systems Integration Division. Again, we are absolutely thrilled and grateful to be given this opportunity, and we are looking forward to it. ”

The contract spans design, development, and demonstration of sensor technologies including Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance; Electro-Optical/Infrared; Hyper-Spectral/Multi-Spectral Imaging; Light Detection and Ranging; Radio Detection and Ranging; Electronic Intelligence; Signals Intelligence; Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive; and Sound Navigation and Ranging for a variety of manned and unmanned airborne and shipborne platforms and fixed and mobile ground stations.

“This is a tremendous win for our team,” said Kevin Switick, CEO of AVIAN. “The A2 joint-venture expands the market space and allows us to work together instead of competing over the same work. Better yet, NAWCAD gets all the benefits of small business tailored support with the reach back and resources of a larger business. It’s a pretty great win-win.”

This win is for a single-award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract. The A2 team is comprised of ASEC, the managing partner in the ASEC-AVIAN joint-venture; AVIAN; ABSI Aerospace & Defense; Dynamic Aviation; Navmar Applied Sciences; Platform Aerospace; Torch Technologies and Valkyrie.
