AVIAN awarded College of T&E contract

May 28th, 2021

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – AVIAN, Inc. was recently awarded an $11.6M contract to continue its support to the Naval Air Systems Command University (NAVAIRU), College of Test and Evaluation (CT&E).

For more than a decade, AVIAN has provided targeted training support to the test and evaluation community aboard Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland.

CT&E was founded to meet the training needs of NAVAIR’s test and evaluation community.  As a member of NAVAIRU, CT&E’s mission is to provide comprehensive and standardized training, career development, and professional guidance to all members of the NAVAIR test and evaluation workforce, as well as related NAVAIR disciplines and command initiatives through the School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Leadership (CISL), partners in Commander Operational Test Forces, and industry.

“Since our start with CT&E and CISL, we’ve created more than 83 training courses and delivered more than 850 classes across NAVAIR.  We could not be more pleased to have the opportunity to continue our support of such a great institution,” said Beth Ward, AVIAN’s vice president for Training, Multimedia, and Consulting.

As the returning provider of Contract Support Services for CT&E, the AVIAN team will continue to provide course development, course instruction, and course administration to NAVAIR’s workforce.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue working with the amazing CT&E team, and to continue teaching and learning from NAVAIR’s bright and innovative T&E community,” said Anthony Fortescue, AVIAN’s program manager for CT&E.

AVIAN’s team is comprised of AMEWAS, Aviation Systems Engineering Company (ASEC); Deloitte; Golden-Aero, LLC; HERON Systems, Inc.; JF Taylor, Inc.; KAIROS, Inc.; PH Tyson & Associates, LLC; Platform Aerospace.; PowerTrain, Inc.; Sabre Systems, Inc.; Strategic Insight Ltd.; Technology Security Associates, Inc.; Tekla Research, Inc.; SAIC, and the MIL Corporation.

“CT&E is where it all began for AVIAN workforce development and training,” Ward said. “Years ago, CT&E served as the launchpad for the development of other NAVAIRU courses and paved the way for the synchronicity with other systems commands such as the Naval Sea Systems Command and Marine Corps Systems Command where we are able to provide key training services today.”
