LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – Hard-working. Motivated. Responsible. Decisive. Those are the attributes of AVIAN’s newest vice president.
On June 1, AVIAN welcomed former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy – (Air and Ground), Dan Nega, as its new Vice President for Strategic Innovation.
“Dan’s innate ability to simplify complex problems and build relationships has taken him far in his career and is ultimately what brought him to AVIAN,” said Kevin Switick, chief executive officer at AVIAN. “As the world changes right before our eyes we knew we needed someone like Dan to help us keep a keen focus on innovation and providing ultimate value to our customers and clients.”
In this new role, Nega will focus on growing AVIAN into new markets and scaling up its commercial activities through various special projects.
Nega brings to AVIAN more than 30 years of civilian service supporting the Naval Air Systems Command. Most recently, he served at the Pentagon as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy - Air Programs where he was the principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy on matters relating to aircraft, cruise missiles, air-launched weapons, airborne sensors, avionics, and related ancillary and support equipment. Nega is well-versed in systems engineering, logistics, and acquisition.
“There are some really exciting projects on the horizon here at AVIAN and Dan is going to add his unique talents to those efforts,” Switick said. “We’re really excited to have him as part of the AVIAN family.”
