VETS Indexes is proud to announce that AVIAN has earned the designation VETS Indexes Recognized Employer, as part of the 2022 VETS Indexes Employer Awards.
The award recognizes the organization’s commitment to recruiting, hiring, retaining, developing, and supporting veterans and the military-connected community.
“AVIAN has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to veterans and the military community, through its efforts to recruit, support, and promote those who served our country bravely,” said George Altman, managing director of VETS Indexes.
As the most objective and comprehensive evaluation of veteran employers, the VETS Indexes Employer Awards have been featured on CNBC, as well as military-specific outlets, including Military.com. Its in-depth survey and recognition program analyze employers’ policies, practices, and outcomes in detail, across the following 5 categories:
★ Veteran job candidate recruiting and hiring
★ Veteran employee development and retention
★ Veteran-inclusive company policies and culture
★ Support for members of the National Guard and Reserves
★ Military spouse/family support
"Taking care of veterans and members of the military-connected community is part of the fabric of our corporate value," said Kevin Switick, AVIAN's Chief Operating Officer and retired U.S. Navy Commander. "Our corporate value is to take care of each other. I learned that powerful value during my time in the Navy and am committed to keeping it a priority in our company."
Nearly 120 organizations submitted surveys to be considered for the awards. Responding organizations included companies large and small, government agencies and departments, nonprofit groups, colleges, and universities. Not all organizations that submitted surveys were recognized with awards. The VETS Indexes Employer Awards are reserved only for employers whose veteran-related efforts stand out from the pack, as the best. “One of the best ways to help veterans is to connect them with fulfilling and meaningful careers, at organizations where they can develop their skills and grow into senior leaders. As a VETS Indexes Recognized Employer, AVIAN has proven to be a welcoming home for veterans and military spouses who want to start the next phases in their lives,” Altman said.
